Scholarships

Scott Community Foundation is a large provider or scholarships to local high school seniors and college students awarding nearly $60,000 each year. Scott Community Foundation manages many scholarship funds that are awarded to graduating high school seniors as well as students already in an undergraduate program. Some scholarships were started by families or individuals and others by business organizations. All scholarships share one goal: helping young people reach their educational goals.

Kansas State University Global Campus Scholarship-Through a partnership between the Scott Community Foundation and Kansas State University Global Campus, local Scott County citizens can complete their bachelor or graduate-level degree online or pursue an online certificate program. This allows individuals to obtain their educational goals while remaining in the community.

 Wichita State University AGH Scholarship Competition Are you interested in pursuing a college degree in Business?  How does a one in sixty chance of receiving a $44,000 scholarship to attend the Barton School of Business at Wichita State University sound?  
 Wichita State University Linwood Sexton Scholarship- Wichita State University is seeking prospective student applications for the Linwood Sexton Scholarship. This is a full-ride scholarship geared toward minority students, majoring in Business or Education, who demonstrate financial need and have a minimum cumulative 3.0 gpa and a minimum 21 ACT composite score. 
  Kansas State University Urban Leadership Program-The Urban Leadership Scholars Program seeks to shape the next generation of great American urban leaders. Urban Leadership Scholars will have the knowledge to make sound judgments, the character to flourish under the pressures of leadership, and the vision to bring new solutions to our nation’s most pressing urban needs. They will influence and inspire future generations to value education, hard work, and achieve academic and career success. 
  Kansas State University Man of Faith Scholarship- The Man of Faith Scholarship recognizes three incoming male freshmen at Kansas State University as being men that place their faith and academics as the foundation for our fraternity. 
  Kansas State University Civic Leadership Scholarship The objective for the K-State Civic Leadership Scholarship competition is to identify and reward exceptional Kansas high school seniors who have demonstrated a commitment to serving others in their community, school, or place of worship.
  Coca-Cola Scholars ProgramSeniors at secondary schools throughout the United States who meet the eligibility requirements may apply for one of 250 four-year merit-based scholarships.  High school seniors, who have not yet graduated, must submit initial applications between September and October 31 of his/her senior year in high school.  
 Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship Application- Any high school senior who is a US citizen is eligible to apply.  Male and female students compete separately for identical awards.  The state of Kansas sends four applications to national judging.  These four students, two boys and two girls, are guaranteed a $4000 scholarship–$1000 per year for four years.  In addition to these four students, the state of Kansas awards 38 other students with a $600 one-time scholarship to use for their education.

JANUARYGE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program-looking for students with leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship. 
 RMHC/ HACER Scholarship – RMHC/HACER is a scholarship for Hispanic students presented by Ronald McDonald House Charities® with the support of McDonald’s®. The scholarship provides financial assistance to graduating Hispanic high school students to fulfill their dreams of pursing a higher education. Students are selected based on demonstrated academic achievement, financial need, and community involvement.
FEBRUARYKansas Kiwanis Foundation- Seniors are evaluated on several factors, primarily SERVICE and ACADEMIC PREPARATION. Other factors are life goals, activities, need, recommendations and membership in service organizations. Be sure to follow instructions.
 Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas-Numerous scholarship programs are available to assist qualified applicants offset costs of higher education at accredited institutions.
 FFA- National scholarships for college.  Both FFA Member and non-member. 
 Phi Kappa Theta Man of Faith Scholarship– $1,000-Need to be a senior male planning to attend K-State in fall of 2016.  You do NOT have to join the fraternity. 
 ESA Foundation Scholarships – a senior high school student who will be an incoming college freshman student with GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or a minimum ACT score of 22. 
 Davidson Fellows Scholarship – $50,000 — 20 awards. Student must be 18 or younger by Oct. 1, 2017 and demonstrate exceptional in-depth knowledge of a particular subject. Winners must be able to attend awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. in September. Travel expenses are paid.
 American Legion Scholarships-Several scholarships available to assist children of American Legion Members.  3.0 GPA.
 KADPF- The students must be residents of Kansas and graduate from a Kansas High School and plan to attend a Kansas College or technical school. Only children whose parent or legal guardian is actively employed in a K-12 or secondary education institution and engaged in a buildings and grounds, food service or transportation position shall be eligible for these scholarships.
 Pioneer Communications Memorial Scholarship Program (Joseph B. Chilen & Earl B. Williams) – Parent or guardian must be a Pioneer Communications telephone, cable television or internet subscriber.                             
 FRS (Foundation for Rural Service) Scholarship High school senior living in the Pioneer Communications telephone, cable television or internet subscriber.
 Albert Lee Wright, Jr. Memorial Migrant Scholarship – Migrant student, scholastic achievement and financial need.

 2016 SER Corporation Scholarship — $500-$1000 – Open to all students including DACA and undocumented. 
 Kansas Grain and Feed Association – must be a Kansas high school graduating senior, plan to attend any Kansas 4-year university, community college or vocational school, self-starter, excellent academic credentials, good school and community citizens.
 Kansas University Hixson Opportunity Award ApplicationStudents must have faces challenges or personal and/or financial hardship.  Students must be residents of Kansas and current high school seniors.  Students must be admissible to the University of Kansas.  Students must be entering freshman for the upcoming fall term at KU.  Students must demonstrate financial eligibility as determined by the FAFSA.  Students whose parents/guardians did not earn a 4-year college degree will receive priority consideration.
 Kansas Kiwanis Foundation Scholarship- Kiwanis Clubs are service organizations, and therefore are interested in recognizing young people who are service oriented. The twenty plus scholarships awarded each year are evaluated on several factors, primarily SERVICE and ACADEMIC PREPARATION. Other factors taken into consideration are life goals, activities, need, recommendations and membership in service organizations. 
 KADPF Scholarship Program- The Kansas Association of Directors of Plant Facilities has established a scholarship fund in the name of Dave Williams and Dick Merriman.  These two individuals have been instrumental throughout the state of Kansas in bringing the custodial profession to a greater height of knowledge and professionalism.  The scholarship is available only to graduating seniors of custodial workers who wish to continue their education at the college level. Student must be a resident of Kansas, Graduate from a Kansas High School, and plan to attend a Kansas college. 
MARCH Cargill Scholarship- Academic achievement and community involvement
 Great Plains Association for College Admission Counseling (GPACAC) Scholarship   GPA 3.0; ACT 21-28; attending high school in KS, NE, or OK.
  Glenn Lygrisse/KACRAO Scholarship – senior at a Kansas high school, GPA of 3.25+, minimum ACT of 22. 
 Shell Oil Company Technical Scholarship – $2,500 — 20 Awards. Graduating senior who is enrolling in engineering or geosciences. Upon successful completion of first year studies and other criteria established by Shell, the recipient may be eligible to apply to receive a four-year renewable award of $5,000 annually. This is an annual scholarship–disregard the year on the first screen; click on the link at the bottom for the up-to-date scholarship deadline. 
 Scott Mecham Student of Integrity Award – students who exemplify ethical behavior and personal integrity and who demonstrate humility, courage, compassion and respect for their peers, teachers, and community. 
 Westar Energy Craft, Lineman, and Powerplant Operator Scholarship  Craft and plant scholarships are available for individuals who wish to pursue an associate degree in electric power and distribution, power plant technology, industrial technology or other industry-related degrees in Kansas. 
 Pioneer Communications Primo Scholarship – Preference given to Marketing, Public Relations, or Telecommunications related field. 
 Seaboard Scholarship — $1,000 — Seaboard Foods is awarding 40 $1,000 scholarships to seniors this year. Seaboard is offering The Community Scholarship, The Children of Employees’s Scholarship and The Technical Career Scholarship. 
 LULAC National Scholarship Fund  Hispanic student, planning to attend college, US citizen *if page not found, click Go Back Home and the page will pop up.  
 Kansas Masonic Foundation Student Loan & Scholarship Program – Scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000 for Kansas residents. 
 KJIL and KHYM Christian Radio Scholarship – $500 – Must be a graduating senior enrolling full time in a Christian college or University in the Fall of 2018. 
 SP Scholarship – $10,000 -10 awards. Must be a legal resident and at least 13 years old and enrolled or will enroll in a college or university in the U.S. Scholarship sweepstakes. 
 Kansas University J.L. Cleland GLBT Non-Discrimination Award- The scholarship was established to help eliminate hatred, violence and bigotry against gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, and transgender persons. One recipient will be offered the $4,500 scholarship, which may be renewable for an additional 3 years. 
APRIL-JUNEAnne Campbell Memorial Scholarship Application is through the Western Kansas Community Foundation.  This scholarship is for high school graduates from Finney or Scott County who wish to pursue a nursing degree.  
 Beef Empire Scholarship – plan to further their education full-time in an agricultural related field.  This is an annual scholarship; disregard the date on the application. 
 Kansas Horse Council Foundation –  are current members of the KHC, have a history in the equine industry (4H, Kansas High School Rodeo, FFA, etc.), 3.0 GPA.
 KS County Clerks’ and Election Officials’ Association $500 – The scholarship is available to applicants who will be attending Kansas Colleges or Universities. 
 Signet Classics Student Scholarships – $1,000 — 1 award. Must be a student in 11th or 12th grade. Essay required to be submitted on behalf of student by English teacher. Students have the choice of six essay topics covering the book Little Women. 
 Steve Harper Memorial Scholarship – seniors attending a Kansas college and majoring in either a natural resource or photography curriculum.  
 Dave Ramsey Scholarship– Enter for a chance to win $40,000. 
 Southwest Kansas Recreation– graduating senior involved in recreational activities.  This is an annual scholarship; disregard the date on the application. 
 Varsity Tours– Students in their senior year may apply for a monthly scholarship in the amount of $1,000. 
 Kansas Comprehensive Grant- The Kansas Comprehensive Grant is available to needy Kansas residents enrolled full-time at eighteen private colleges and universities located in Kansas, the six state universities, and Washburn University. This grant is funded by the state of Kansas. To be considered you must complete and submit the FAFSA, listing one or more eligible colleges in the FAFSA. The funding level allows about 1 in 3 eligible students to be assisted with award amounts ranging from $200 – $3,500 at the private institutions and $100 – $1,500 at the public institutions. This grant is based on financial need.
 Kansas Board of Regents Scholarships various scholarships available: Kansas Career Technical Workforce Grant, Kansas Ethnic Minority Scholarship, Kansas Military Service Scholarship, Kansas National Guard Educational Assistance Program, Kansas Nursing Service Scholarship, Kansas State Scholarship, Kansas Teacher Service Scholarship, State of Kansas Student Aid Application. 
 O’Brate Foundation Scholarship – The O’Brate Foundation invites youth with limited resources who are pursing higher education to apply for a scholarship. We are committed to helping these youth attain their personal goals and become successful members of society.  
 Abbott and Fenner Scholarship – available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post-secondary institution.  Essay required. 
 BigSun Scholarship – All student athletes are eligible regardless of the sport they are engaged in. The student must be a high school senior or be attending a post-secondary institute.  Short essay required. 
  Educational Foundation of the Society of CPA’s- These scholarships are offered without regard to financial need to students who rank high in one of the two college qualifying examinations (ACT or SAT), who will attend a Kansas university or college, and who plan to major in accounting.

 KANSAS ASSOCIATION OF COLLEGIATE REGISTRARS AND ADMISSION OFFICERS (KACRAO)- The Kansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (KACRAO) offer scholarships to reward students who have demonstrated quality leadership during their high school years. There are four $250 awards available each academic year, which may be used at KACRAO member institutions. The scholarships will be designated as follows; one per school type: four-year public, four-year private, community college, and technical/vocational. The awards are not need-based and may be used in conjunction with other awards.
 Hispanic College Fund Scholarship- Minimum eligibility criteria for all HCF programs: Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher, be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, be studying full-time in the United States or through a U.S. based study abroad program.
 Kansas Golf Foundation- The KS Golf Foundation has just started the KS Jr Golf Scholarship that will award $1500 to each of five deserving young men or women.  This is an academic – not athletic scholarship program but in order to be eligible, a KS high school graduate must have participated in junior golf activities.  Qualifying junior golf activities are listed on application.
  Kansas Golf Foundation The KS Golf Foundation has just started the KS Jr Golf Scholarship that will award $1500 to each of five deserving young men or women.  This is an academic – not athletic scholarship program but in order to be eligible, a KS high school graduate must have participated in junior golf activities.  Qualifying junior golf activities are listed on application.
 Chapter X P.E.O. STAR Scholarship You must enroll in at least twelve (12) credit hours in a college of your choice.  You must send Chapter X a letter stating you have enrolled & enclose a copy of schedule each semester.
 The Tylenol Scholarship- Tuition Assistance for Healthcare Students!  Apply today to receive one of ten $10,000 grants or 150 $1,000 grants being offered to undergraduate and graduate students in health-related fields of study. 
 Kansas Bar Association- Awards vary from $1,000 to $2,000. In addition to the scholarship application, most scholarships require two letters of recommendation. Some also require a transcript, letter of interest, or other supporting documentation. To view specific requirements, please read the scholarship descriptions below.
 Golden Plains Credit Union- Applicant must be a member of Golden Plains Credit Union.  Applicants must be enrolled on or plan to enroll as a full-time student at a university, junior college, or trade school this fall.
 SAE’s Engineering Scholarships- In recognition of the important contributions made by engineers in improving the quality of our lives, particularly those related to mobility, SAE is proud to be able to offer more than 60 corporate- and university sponsored scholarships to qualified students who are interested in the study of engineering and related sciences.  “MAKE THE U” (HAZ LA U) Scholarship Program- For students interested in attending Midwest Technical Institute, Tulsa Welding School, Tulsa Welding School in Jacksonville, Delta Technical Institute, or RSI Refrigeration School, follow the link below.  Mike Rowe (of Dirty Jobs) partnered with these schools to give away full tuition scholarships!!!
 BUICK ACHIEVERS  – $25,000/year – Seniors going to a 4-year college or university and plan to major in engineering, technology, design or business.
 KLL Memorial Scholarship Foundation (Loss of Parent due to Cancer)- Students are eligible to apply if they have lost a parent to cancer.
 County Weed Directors Association of Kansas- The CWDAK will be sponsoring at least four $500 scholarships for the fall semester. These scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors majoring in agriculture or a plant science related field at an accredited Kansas college.
 The Bill Spaniol Memorial Scholarship- Any student who will be graduating or has graduated from a Kansas high school and will be attending a technical college, community college or a four-year private or public college or university is eligible.  First priority in awarding will be given to individuals who are seeking a career in Environmental Sciences or a related field.
 Aspiring Fashion Professional Scholarship- This is a $1,000 scholarship that will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing a fashion degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college.
 IBPA Student Scholarship- The International Bullying Prevention Association will be awarding up to 2 scholarships in the amount of $500. The scholarships are available to students who have shown dedication and passion for bullying prevention efforts in their school or community.
 Kansas Seed Industry Association Scholarship- The Kansas Seed Industry Association will give a $1000 scholarship. Applicants may be high school seniors or college students. Applicants must plan to attend college in Kansas. Applicants must be seeking a degree in Agronomy, Ag Education, Ag Econ/Business, Ag Communications, Grain/Milling Science, Ag Technology, Ag Farm Management or Horticulture.
 Summer American Red Cross Scholarship- The American Red Cross Leaders Saves Lives Program is awarding 6 $1000, 2 $1500, and 2 $2500 Scholarships. Students who complete certain requirements also receive one gift card after the program concludes.
